This is followed by a brief outline of the current state of newspaper digitisation in the international and national context. The main section includes a detailed workshop report on the DFG ?DDR-Zeitungsportal? project carried out by the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin (Berlin State Library) covering an array of topics ranging from legal issues, scanning, layout, text and entities recognition through to presentation and links to other content.
