The Digital Assistant has been part of the indexing work process at the Zentralbibliothek Zurich (ZuĂÂrich Central Library) since 2013. The tool combines ĂÂmachine-supported processes and intellectual indexing: subject headings are generated automatically, which are then checked intellectually by the subject specialists. This paper presents an overview of the development of the Digital Assistant within the context of indexing as a whole and within the Zentralbibliothek in particular. The second half of the paper provides a detailed description of the systemââŹâ˘s data processing routines and discusses first results based on statistics.
